Just an update. The job I was talking about has cast iron radiation. In Minnesota, design temp of 0 degrees. The home is an aprox. 1950's. Has not been updated. If this helps with the curve let me know.

Thanks.

    Munchkin vision 1 curve

On a replacement job with cast iron radiators what do you guys think would be the best curve set points for the vision one pkg.

    Currently I have it set.

    Max. OD temp. 68 degrees

Minn. boiler set point 140 degrees

    Minn. OD temp. 20 degrees

Max. boiler set point 180 degrees

What do you think. If I'm all wet let me know.

    Thanks.

    Depends on the house

Also the type of heat emmitters, panel rads, Cast iron, BB makes a difference on what heat output you can expect at low water temps. What would your outdoor design temp be? How's the integrity of the building envelope? All that other jazz.........

    Depends

You may want to raise the warm weather shut down to 72 or so if you are in an area (like here in NE) where even a 68 degree day can be damp and cold feeling. On the positive side, I think that you can also drop the min. boiler temp on said 72 day to 125-130 and still have sufficient heat.

    I run

most of my minimum set point down around 95-100. I'm in SE South Dakota and run a design temp of -15. With the cast iron rads don't be afraid to go low temp. The Munchie loves low temp and your customer will love lower gas bills.

    helgy,

I'd start by dropping the min to 90o.If the house is cold, turn it up 5o at a time. If your zone(s) are turning on & off youre probably running too high a temp( in ref. to od temp ).
Try it this way. If you want max. savings your pumps should never shut off ( constant circ. )
Im running 122o through my base board right now at about 25 outdoor temp. 70o indoor temp.no nighttime setback.
