The first thing that comes to mind is if you have a setback thermostat and the AM and PM settings are reversed.

    no heat at night

i recently had a leaking mixer valve that was spraying water onto a thermostat relay. I had a plumber repair the leak and i installed a new relay on the boiler. For the last three nights the heat wont come on. It works fine during the day, but wont turn on at night. Any clue to why this might be happening?

    Last year

I had a job (my own house) where the boiler somehow ended up connected to the light switch to the basement. When the lights were turned off for the night the boiler was getting turned off too. Drove me crazy for a while. S--- happens. :). WW

    depending on where you live...

and if you have an outside receptacle that is controlled by a timer or another appliance that is controlled by a day night ,hour timer....it may be that it is wired thru the 4 suare to its destination and during the day that it was repaired may have been tied into that circuit to the replaced relay.

a timer box is a square grey box with a dial with 24 hr incrementations and some levers that Point to when to start and stop.

Wayne makes a point also... there could be some twisty change of a switch leg , here again, it may be something that is generally turned on in the evenings like an outside light. the thought that perhaps the programmable t stat was overlooked is another good avenue to persue.
