radiator valves

I have a few radiator valves that the discs are no longer sealing when the valve are shut. Where can I find replacement discs for them? Will HD or Lowes have them? Or do I have to replace the whole valve?
Also I have to replace some of my air vents. On doing so I found that some of the vents wont fit the opening, even though they are the same 1/8" size, they seem to be slightly thicker. How do I make them fit?

Thanks

    repair & replace

replace the radiator valves & you will be set for another 50 years. it is not worth the effort to try to refit them. re-tap 1/8 " boss with ips tap and the new ones will fit. . you will actually be just cleaning out the tapping. do it slowly & gently. best of luck. it is not that difficult.
