Pumps water toward boiler

I have a system built in 1956, we get a lot of noise in the rear bedroom zone(close to the boiler). Bleeding the system works for a while but always comes back. The boiler outflow goes to two different zones, each having 6 lines that then go to a manifold which then goes to a pump by the boiler. Since the expansion tank and bleeder are on the out flow side of the boiler, shouldn't the pumps be after them?

Yes,
it would work better if the circulator was puming away from the compression tank.Retired and loving it.0 -
Change locations?
Do you think I can just reverse them where they are now? They about 2' away from the bottom of the boiler and this would have the water flowing toward the manifold.
Thank you,
