Usually Javascript is enabled by default. I use Mozilla, which is based on Netscape and the setting is under Tools/Options/Content. Maybe check and see if they switched the default back to off?

Off topic but,,,,,,,,
this ones really getting to me!!!! I wanted to view Josh`s new web page. I use Netscape as my main "browser", but it wont let me open-it as "Java Script" keeps denying me. But if I go to IE(Microsoft) I can view-it! What am I missing? I`m really getting "ticked-off"!!!!!0 -
Sounds like either a security setting in Netscape or incompatibility with new Java scripts are causing the problem.
You might need to download Netscape version 8.1.2 According to their website, you must do this manually as it will not automatically update to the newest version.0 -
That`s what I have Mike,,,
and no matter how I "fool" with those settings, I can`t get-it to go! I know I`m "missing-something", but I don`t know what. ( I know what I feel like doing with this!) LOL! Thanks anyway Mike! BTW- Josh does have a great looking site!0 -

I tried turning off my "Firewall", I even downloaded Netscape 8.1.2 again, still nothing. No matter how I change the "JavaScript or Trust Settings" it`s still no go. Maybe I`ll just "dump" the Netscape as it seems to be nothing but trouble anyway. Here`s what I was trying to open,www.camanowebdesign.com/domains/mitchell-mechanical.com0 -

You can also go to Sun Microsystems and download the latest java "engine" for free. I would try that. Many people are also switching to Mozzilla firefox. But IE7 generally works with everything and because it works with everything Microsoft is making a big comeback from the days that many switched to Netscape.0 -
I downloaded Netscape and it ran without issue, even if I denied it's use of Java and Javascript. Without those, the menu actions changed but it worked.
I suspect something else is blocking your access to Javascript, if not a firewall or anti-malware program, then something else has hooked itself in.
In IE, when you go over the menus at the top of the screen, do they drop down, or just "underline". If they underline then then IE isn't running the java script either but IE isn't giving you an error message.
At the beginning of the web page, there is a line that downloads the javascript code. If that's being blocked, again by a firewall or other protection means, then that could cause your error too.
I often find that people have more than 1 anti-spyware/virus/spam blocker installed on their PCs. That's a big no-no. Make sure you only have one of each operating. Be aware that some of the newer programs combine some or all of the protection features.
The other option is to try and start you PC in "safe mode with networking" and trying the page. If you want info on that, just let me know...

I tried IE, and yes, if I "hover" over the menu icons, they do drop down. I gotta admit, I`m thinking "real hard" on dumping this Netscape, but I can`t figure why it works for you and not me. Rather than tie-up here, perhaps an Email would be better?
