copper fill and vent pipes

I was just on a job, new construction, and noticed they had installed the fill and vent oil line using copper. I know that every oil company I've ever worked for would not repair these pipes, you had to have the piping redone with black pipe if you had a problem. My question is are you allowed by code to use copper for this purpose? I'm not having any luck looking it up.

Thanks.

    Where are you located Earl?

Copper is a no-no here in Mass for a fill and vent. Oil supply line yes, just not bare copper

    Copper piping for oil tanks

Its been all allowed in the Town of Brookhaven for some time. They used to allow the fill and vent pipes to piped in PVC years ago.

    the solder

in canada we cant use copper fill and vent because the solder used for the connections has a melting temperature less than 1000degrees Fahrenheit. the oil supply line to the furnace is fine because it uses flared connections.

It depends on the filler material

I think it's ok as long as the joints are brazed and not soft soldered
