HW Loop off steam boiler.

in THE MAIN WALL
weil-Mclain peg 40 steamjust installed  a weil-McLain peg 40 steam boiler.

I ran a hot water loop, and im having a problem with circulation thru the boiler.

I pulled the supply off the return right off the boiler and dumping it back in where the boiler drain tapping is. everything is below the water line ( pump, flow control valves ). With this boiler should I be using the return tappings on each side of the boiler to get proper circulation ?

    What size

    are your tie in points and what size pipe to and from the WH? What do you mean by flow problem? Not making hot water? What size pump? Any chance of pics? Any check valves on the loop?

    Connections are 3/4 inch. So is all the baseboard and flow control valves.

    Im using a bronze taco pump. There is about 20 feet of baseboard.

          I had this system running fine on the old boiler.

    Now that i installed the new Weil-McLain PEG 40 Steam Boiler im not geting circulation thru the loop. 

    So I was thinking, maybe i should be supplying and returning my loop from the return tappings in the rear section of the boiler to get circulation.

        Because right now i have my supply pulling out of the return tapping and returning to the tapping for the boiler drain, which is in the middle section.

    I don't know if thats the answer until i repipe it.

    an air problem.  Have you power purged the piping?
    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

    Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

    does your pump have enough head lift to raise the water above the highest point of your system.

    This is not a closed loop system. The water in your loop may be flashing to steam at a low pressure point.

    Is the pump pushing into the loop?  It must be installed this way.

    Use a pump with higher head it should solve your problem.

    I have done a lot of these loops without any problems.

    Yes the pump is pushing into the loop and yes i have power purged the loop.

    I'll let you know the out come.
