That is soooooooooooooooooooooo good to hear. As Ken says, not many come back to tell us how well it worked out. In this business, when the phone calls stop it usually means everything is working great! That is one phone call anyone would want to get. Thank you Dean for making my day. Mad Dog

    Efficiency

This is a thank you to the wall and to mad dog and steamhead in particular for all the information that allowed me to restore our one pipe steam system to it's original efficiency in Feb. 2004. After a full year of tracking natural gas usage and monetary cost we have averaged a 60% reduction in gas used and corresponding cost, even with the increase in natural gas prices. Our highest gas bill this winter was $97.00 in Dec. 2004 in Dec. 2003 it was over $200 And our total heating cost has been less than $500. What really stands out, is this winter, all of my immediate neighbors gas bills were over $200 every month (All have forced hot air heat with one exception who has baseboard hot water. His averaged $150.) I think this shows that steam systems can be extremely efficient when operating as they were designed to and are well worth restoring. The best part of this is my neighbors used to laugh and ask when I was going to get rid of my "antique" radiators and get a "modern" heating system. No one is laughing anymore. Thanks again.

    Dean,

Thank you so much. Many drink from the knowledge base that hangs out here, but few come back to confirm how sweet the beverage really is.

    Ain't validation grand...

    Great news.
