Just read this article in PM magazine today.
I usually leave Dan's column page open in the magazine rack in our small 1/2 bath reading room so my wife sees it and reads it also. She is an avid reader and appreciates good writing also.

So to get displayed on that rack is a high honor here......equivalent to the first display at the front of Barnes & Noble. ;)

Nice and touching. Should be required reading for those who's 5th guest room is 1 degree off set temp. The luxuries in life are expected and not appreciated. What the founders of HVAC have done and strides we have made are astonishing. Most mansions on the south fork of LI have GEO, not for efficiency, but can't have those ghastly condensers outside. If they only knew, or cared about the equipment, components and the techs who design, install and service to keep them comfortable.
We wouldn't be anywhere without that radiator or valve or the sweat and knowledge that went into it.
If you look at my profile pic, it's oil burner tags from years gone by. Sits on the wall in my garage and I still stop and look at it and remember that Metal Master, or Volcano or Shell head that I serviced and eventually replaced with something more clean burning and efficient, but wonder where we'd be now if we didn't have them in the first place.

I also want to point out that Dan is close to the throne in my castle of which I am the King.......until the Queen comes home, that is. :|

The very personification of anthropomorphism. Had to look it up but couldn't resist.
HVACNUT is right. And your ability to enlighten, teach and entertain is as good as ever.

Wow, mind of a mechanic.......... heart and soul of a poet........ I remember when I was about 4 years old living with my parents in a rented apt in an old brick farmhouse in Sunderland, Ma. and loving being soothed to sleep by the singing of hissing steam coming out of those friendly old faithful radiators. Thank you so much Dan.
