Repiping steam main in counter-flow tomorrow, very excited! Existing main has pinhole leaks due to size reductions on the horizontal. It also connects with another steam main above the waterline. Solving a lot of system issues with this repipe. Pictures to follow!

Well it was a little tricker than I thought! The first picture shows the header with 2 bullheaded tees. The second picture shows the repipe. I removed the bullheaded tees. I was also able to counter-flow a portion of the other main which had pipe size reductions on the horizontal. You'll notice the main to the left drops into the top as well as it is dripped. The third picture is another view of the header/drip connection. The forth picture shows the cross connected mains (which I already began cutting out). The fifth picture shows the additon of the main vent. The seventh picture shows the existing main with pipe reductions on the horizontal. And the sixth picture shows the counter-flow main (bottom view).

Is the single family home more than one storey? I'm pleased that risers are piped with take offs from main. Counter flow is supposed to be inexpensive. So some guys really get enthusiastic for cheap and just use tees.
