Has anyone heard from Joe Starosielec from Thatcher Heating recently? He prepped my steam boiler for the summer and was supposed to be back at my home in NJ on 10/7 for the fall start-up. I have not heard from him nor can I get through to his company/email/phone contacts. We were also supposed to look into an additional radiator being installed when he was here this week as well.....and NOTHING.
Sorry to use The Wall for such a purpose, but I know he was an active contributor here often.
Thanks,
Jeff

So then would anyone know if Thatcher Heating and AC is still in business with a new owner? I have/had a service agreement with them. I'd love to get Joe back in here, but I'm not sure what avenues I should try. I'm a bit disappointed in that he never reached out to his customers to inform them of his move. I'm happy for him, but it's hard to get a good knowledgeable steam guy in Bergen County NJ.

Hello: Reading through the other thread I saw that Joe gives contact info for the new company. It's A&S Boiler and Burner
973-824-1000. Calling that number should get you some answers!

    Yours, Larry

Don't try and reach Joe through A&S.
Receptionist claims the best way to get him is through his cell...and obviously, he is not taking calls regarding previous work he did. Nor is he honoring a $300 service agreement I made through him and Thatcher. Very disappointed.

I'm sure he will take care of you one way or the other, keep in mind that this is the busiest time of the year for heating contractors

HE did not...yet he has not returned ANY emails, texts, calls, etc and his phone goes straight to "full mailbox"....and Thatcher's line was disconnected.
I would suspect a business that carries agreements made only a few weeks before he closed up shop, should have been notified of such.
Maybe, I am being a bit too sensitive to the whole thing.
I'm fortunate to know a lot of things due to this website and reading Dan's books. The Lost Art has been invaluable to me and so have many of the contributor's here.

Jeff, my apologies! I just sent you a personal message. When I switched the company phone plan into my name, they gave me the wrong phone number for a few weeks. It took a while to figure out. The entire business move has been messy and unorganized. Ugh. hopefully my phone and email situation is sorted out. I've got a few hundred texts/calls/emails to respond to right now. I don't have a personal computer, so all of my emails go through my phone. Add that on top of the cold weather break of last week...

Thanks, Joe. I just messaged you. I'm glad you reached out. I wish you'd still be able to help- thanks for the correspondence and letting me know of your situation. Good steam people are not so easy to come by.
    Regards.

Hey @JStar -First off congrats on the move to the new company. Seems like this is a great opportunity for you and your guys. It seems like you are extremely busy with both the new job, and also consulting for your previous customers. Would you be able to recommend someone in North Jersey. I had you at my house in Jan and you recommended a few things, so I would like to get someone back in here. Let me know if you have a personal recommendation for someone. Thanks Joe, and best of luck to you

Still waiting to hear back from you regarding your last post here/message to me.
The guy you recommended never bothered to return my call. Any way you can send me another name to reach out to ?

Agreed. I reached out here as all the other contact info I had wasn't getting me anywhere. I thought someone here might be able to pass along the word. Never thought of the PM but will use that in the future. Joe is the nicest guy, and I was so glad I finally had someone at my house who KNEW steam and just didn't "wing it" like the others try to.

@JStar is now with a company that only does industrial and commercial work. But if you're looking for someone to work on your house, try @Dave0176 or @EzzyT . Can't go wrong with either one.

Hi, Steamhead. I messaged both Dave and Ezzy this am and haven't heard back. My issue is rather urgent, as it relates to the sale of my home. It turns out that Joe's company did not get permits for the boiler install. The township will not give me a CO without a permit. I have been told I have to get an electrical permit, two plumbing permits and a construction permit. when I had someone come in to start the process, they did not understand the system Joe installed. Do you have names of folks in central/north NJ who can help?
