does this vent need replacing?

Hi all,

I've been reading that steam coming out of an air vent is not good. What is your opinion on this vent? Please watch the video.

    That sounds like the air being vented. I didn't see steam. The vent should be straight up and down. Do other vents sound like this? How much main venting is there? Do you have an oversized boiler? Venting should be dead silent and when steam reaches the vent it should close.

    Touch the vent. Is the vent hot? If it is, and the vent still sounds like that, then yes you need to replace it. The vent should close when steam hits it.

    It also sounds like you might need more main venting and your system pressure is set too high.
