Burnham MPO IQ147 or Weil Mclain WGO3
I had a Burnham V7 Boiler installed in 1999 it failed after four years Burnham replaced the block with a V8 block now the V8 block cracked in exactly the same place that the last block cracked, the middle section near the clean out access about half way high on the section.
My home is 2400 sq ft. Hydro air system two heating zones and a third zone for DHW. I use about 850 gal of oil a year.
I am trying to decide between the above two units. I am very hesitant to put another Burnham product in but the castings on the mpo is very different than the V7 and V8. Also with the warrantee rebate from Burnham the mpo would be substantially less than the wgo.
I had a installer here today that suggested I should loop a small amount of the outflow water directly back to the inflow he thinks the water returning may be too cold and that is what has caused the problem.
Your thoughts and suggestions will be appreciated
