summer/winter hookup & oil furnace running when no water is being used
Hi, we have a summer/winter hookup for our 1920 foursquare (oil furnace . . . old cast iron radiators, etc.) I understand the basics of the system, but one thing puzzles me. In the summer (now) when NO HOT WATER is being called for anywhere in the house (washer/dishwasher/showers/sinks not being used), the furnace occasionally kicks in. Is this supposed to happen? I hate to burn oil without a need for it.
