Ergomax Indirect with Low Mass Boiler?

I have a Vitodens low mass boiler and an Ergomax indirect. Is this combination sort of defeating the purpose of a low mass boiler? Since the Ergomax is I guess a "reverse" indirect as it holds a large quantity of boiler water counteracting the benefits of having a low mass boiler? Besides efficiency, does this set up just make the boiler work harder as it has to heat up a large quantity of water as it was not really designed to do? Maybe I'm just thinking too much on this holiday weekend! That's why I throw this question out to the pros out here on The Wall. Thanks Dan and all the pros out here, been following this forum since about 1999!
