in Strictly Steam
I have 3 hoffman 4a quick vent ( max psi10) on my steam boiler that have to be changed out. Should i install the same ones again or is there something better. I was told the hoffman 75 vent might work better than what i have. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Main Vents

    Hi-  The 4A is a pretty small vent. The Gorton #1 is 3 times faster. The Hoffman #75 is about 4 times faster and the Gorton #2 is about 10 times faster. If you give us the pipe size an length of your steam means we can calculate the amount of venting your need for each steam main.  Here's a website of a Cleveland steam pro, Gerry Gill, and it has a lot of good info on steam and venting.  http://www.gwgillplumbingandheating.com/webapp/p/415/maximizing-your-venting.html
